I write to you as a working hair and makeup artist here in the big smoke otherwise known as, London. You may well know by now just how big a city it is, fulfilled with the new, the old, the poor and the rich. It has just about everything, well, not quite everything. If you’re looking for sunshine and a beautiful blue sea to encounter daily then it’s probably best jetting off to the land of Oz or sunny Sevilla. However, despite London’s talent of being unpredictable at times or should I say, most of the time. It is also an amazing city to explore, work, visit and even find peace… at times.
I know this because in the last 4 years I have been able to experience all this. Having moved up to London at the age of 18 leaving behind all I knew in Plymouth, it was to say the least, pretty daunting. From a very young age I knew I wanted to develop my creativity and it wasn’t until I knew that makeup was classed as a career, that I jumped at the opportunity to begin my journey and turn my dreams into a reality. So what did I do? Well, for starters I am lucky enough to have the support of my family of whom I would not be here doing what I do today without them. My brother helped me research what makeup school would be best suited to me and so after lots of looking I decided Delamar Academy was the best choice. I would highly recommend to all.
So you’re probably thinking well what are you blogging about and why are you telling me this? Well, I’ll tell you why. I love makeup; I love hair, I love fitness, I love music, I love, well, just about everything. I woke up one morning and thought to myself there is just something missing. I spent some time trying to figure out what I was after and then all of a sudden it dawned on me… Blogging! I’d heard about it of course but I hadn’t actually considered what it would be like to involve myself into this new and exciting world of writing what I want when I want. I’ve always loved English and this was my strong point in my school days. I hate thinking that this had all gone to waste just because school was no more. Having not gone to university and instead studied hair and makeup for a degree, I therefore had not developed my English skills any further. I always knew I’d like to continue in some way or another and if it could be done through the style of creative writing then I’d be happy. So here we are, I’m just going for it! I truly believe that the world is your oyster and there are no limits to what one individual chooses to do in life. I personally want to make the most of my skill set and by blogging I feel I can do so. I will blog about makeup and hair as this is what I specialise in, but not only beauty. I will blog about lifestyle and leisure along with any other subjects that I feel strongly about.
I hope to provide a good source of information that will benefit all you lovely people out there in some way or another and I’m going to try my best to give as many tips and hints as possible. If you’re interested in what makes life wonderful but also what we can do to better our lives then I believe you will enjoy reading what I have to say along the way. If you don’t then hey it’s a pity but let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
Come back soon for my next update on… “Summer Must Haves.”
